MARGARET REID (nee ORR)

Margaret Reid (nee Orr) of Ripley, died peacefully, March 8, 2022, one day after her 95th birthday. Loving mother of Shirley Colwell, and Brian and Diane Reid. Missing her, are grandchildren Chris (Mary) Colwell, Tarrin (Evan) Poll, Gavin Colwell, Ainsley (Curtis) Deplessis, Jason (Lyndsay) Reid, Amanda (Bill) Reid, Travis Reid; and nine great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Marian Underwood and Lois Kerr. Margaret will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard; son, Lynn; son-in-law, Bruce; great-grandson, Bentley; her parents, Elton and Susan Orr; brothers, Bob, Howard, and Harvey Orr; sister, Eilean Ribey; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Al Underwood, Bob Kerr, John Ribey, Mary Orr and Vera Orr. Margaret was an active member of the Pine River Church, United Church Women (UCW) and Women’s Institute, as well as the Point Clark Seniors Club. She loved quilting and was a vital part of both the Pine River and Point Clark Quilters’ groups, where she spent so much time that a room was named after her. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service and burial will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1 p.m., at the Pine River United Church Cemetery (403 Alice Street, Huron Kinloss), with reception to follow at the Point Clark Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rosewood RVilla Residents Fund or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley.
