Mary Kay Lanting, 63, of Orange, Texas, formerly of Kincardine, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Medical Centre of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. She was a long-time resident of Orange and was previously in Canada for 18 years. She loved basketball but especially player Russell Westbrook; she would follow whatever team he was on. Mary was a simple person who loved her family, her grandchildren, and loved going on cruises. She took a lot of pride in her work at Kroger in the 24 years she was there, and loved her Kroger family and the customers she met along the way. Survived by her children, Jane Anne and husband, Chuck Ayarza, of Guthrie, Oklahoma; J.B. and wife, Victoria Lanting, of Baytown, Texas; and Dillin and wife, Danielle Lanting, of Corpus Christi, Texas; as well as her grandchildren, Jonathan Ayarza, Joshua Ayarza, Jessica Ayarza, Dustin Ayarza, Bethany Ayarza, Kylee Lanting, Jennings Lanting, Benton Lanting, Landon Lanting, and Khloe Lanting; and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by her mother, Doris Jane Steele; sister, Vicki King; and brother, Mark Steele and wife, Candice, all of Orangefield, Texas. Predeceased by her husband, Fred Lanting; and her father, Gene Steele. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 6-8 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, Texas. The funeral will be held Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery in Orange, Texas. |
