John “Barry” MacSween of Kincardine died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine. He was 73. Born in Kincardine, Feb. 13, 1949, he was the son of Kenneth MacSween and Cathleen Barry. He leaves behind his wife, Bev; and her children, Carrie and Lloyd Williams, and Jeremy and Heather Betzner, and their families. Also missed by his siblings, Maria and Casey Kalvaitis, Bill and Bev MacSween, Margie and Duncan McGill, and Pat and Greg McLean, and their families. Barry worked in the aviation industry all his life – first as a mechanic, then as a commercial pilot for Tim Hortons, and finally as the operational manager of the John C. Munroe International Airport. Upon his retirement, he moved back to his hometown Kincardine. The family thanks the staff at Rosewood RVilla Senior Living in Ripley, and Drs. Thomson and Murray for their care these past few years. Cremation has occurred and a celebration of life will be held Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at the Royal Canadian Legion, MacDonald Branch 183, Kincardine, from 2-4 p.m. Barry will be buried in the Kincardine Cemetery alongside of his parents.
