V. Peter Shewfelt, a resident of Maitland Manor, Goderich, and formerly of Kincardine, died on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in his 80th year. Cherished son of the late Wilbert “Bert” and Verna (née Wall) Shewfelt. Remembered by his sons, Gregory (Debbie) of Georgia, U.S.A.; and John (Kim) of New Brunswick; as well as all his grandchildren. Survived by his brothers, Kenneth, David, and Brian; sister, Joan; and his nieces and nephews. After graduation from Kincardine District High School, Peter was employed in the financial world with Trans Canada Trust and went on to banking in Toronto for many years. He then returned to Kincardine and started a furniture store and purchased Penny’s Laundromat. He was a “do something new” kind of guy. Throughout his life, Peter enjoyed sailing, travelling and biking. Predeceased by his first wife, Susan Shewfelt (née McEwan); and his second wife, Penny Tersigni (née Brock). A graveside service to honour Peter’s life will be held at the Kincardine Cemetery, Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Kenneth Craig officiating. Friends of Peter and his family are welcome to attend. Special thanks to all the staff of Maitland Manor for the exceptional care of Peter during the past few years. Memorial donations to Maitland Manor Residents' Council would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
