WILLIAM "BILL" JOHN BACHE

William “Bill” John Bache died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, with family by his side, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, at the age of 92. Cherished husband of Edith “Muriel” Bache (nee Walsh) for almost 69 years. Loving father of Andrew Stephen Bache, Susan Margaret Reed (Ronald) and Sandra Louise Banyard. Sadly, missed by his grandchildren, William Bache (Lauren), Amy Bache, Garnet Reed (Nicole), Sean Reed, Carson Reed, Ashlee Banyard, Robert Banyard (Kennedy Fitzgerald) and Connor Banyard. Predeceased by his parents, William Edward Bache and Rosemary Bache (nee Laight) of Halesowen, England; brothers, Stanley, Malcolm Roy and Edward Bache; and sisters, Joyce Gardner and Joan Bache, all of Halesowen, England. Bill and Muriel married in 1953, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Stourbridge, England. In 1957, they boarded the R.M.S. Scythia, immigrating to Canada. He was a natural athlete, playing football (soccer) for various clubs in West Midlands and the South Coast of England. He won the Victor Ludorum for track and field at the Halesowen Boys School. Bill was conscripted into the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers. Starting out as a cabinet-maker in England and transitioning into construction upon arriving in Canada, he was an accomplished tradesman. Hard work meant that he would eventually have his own business, “B & K Contracting.” He and Muriel retired to Kincardine in 1990. Bill was well-respected by his co-workers, and loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Kincardine, Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at 11 a.m., with Father Thomas Manninezhath officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery, followed by a reception. If so desired, donations to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, St John's, Newfoundland, in memory of William John Bache and Sandra Alecia Banyard, would be appreciated by the Bache family.
