Ruth Louise Eyre (nee Brown) of Kincardine died peacefully, Aug. 27, 2022, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Don for 67 years. Loving mother of Doug (Carrie) and Maureen. Predeceased by her daughter, Carol; infant grandson, Mark; and parents, Elmer and Florence Brown. Also predeceased by Don’s parents, Will and Doris Eyre; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ken and Donna Eyre, Janet and Bob Thompson, and Bob, Sandra and Kathryn Eyre. Loved by her nieces and nephews. Ruth was a 1952 graduate of the Sarnia General Hospital School of Nursing and worked in Sarnia, Regina, Edmonton and Scarborough as the family moved across Canada with Don’s work. During retirement in Kincardine, Ruth was a respected volunteer for many years in the palliative care community. She was an active member of the Kincardine United Church, including the United Church Women (UCW), for 35 years. Ruth enjoyed reading, travelling and knitting, but most of all, spending time with Don, her family and friends. Ruth touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, from 10-11 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Gord Dunbar officiating. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kincardine United Church or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
