REGINALD LESLIE MILBURN |
October 16, 2022 |
Reginald Leslie Milburn of Kincardine, died suddenly at home, Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, in his 80th year. Beloved husband for 51 years of the late Anne Milburn (2017). Loving father of Margie Milburn (Craig Lessels) of Kitchener, and Craig Milburn (Jennifer Lawrie) of Kincardine. Fondly remembered by his brothers, Bill Milburn and Jim Milburn, both of Manitoba; and many family members and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Lillian (née Taylor) Milburn; son-in-law, John Saulters; and sister-in-law, Patricia Milburn. After his graduation from mechanical engineering at the University of Manitoba, Reg worked for 36 years in the oil and gas, and nuclear industries. Retiring in 2000, he found new enjoyment as a volunteer driver. He drove for the Canadian Cancer Society, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Community Living, and Children Services, to name a few. As Reg got older, he scaled back his driving but could still be seen getting his daily exercise by walking the streets of Kincardine, or on the track at the Davidson Centre when the weather did not co-operate. He kept his mind sharp by doing countless Sudoku and crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed his card games with the Probus Club, as well as watching every baseball game on TV in the summer. An avid curler for many years, he could be found at the club throwing rocks, and never missed a curling game in the winter. A private family service will take place. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
