Lynda May Maurer of Kincardine died peacefully at Huron Shores Hospice, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Harold Maurer. Dear mother of Darren and Darcie. Loving grandmother of Sammy and Emmie. Dear sister of Keith Carter (Isabel) and Eva Wilken (late Carl). Lynda always enjoyed working, and talking with friends and family and the public about what was happening in the community. She worked at the Yale Rubber Company in Kincardine, and later worked with her daughter at Darcie’s Variety, also in Kincardine. She was happiest interacting with people and sharing stories. Lynda and Harold were major sponsors of the Kincardine Bulldogs of the Provincial Junior Hockey League for three years, and she was treasurer of the hockey club during the early years. She also loved watching baseball and served as a scorekeeper for many years. She and Harold purchased Jean’s Family Restaurant and Lynda enjoyed greeting customers and talking about the stories of the day in Kincardine. Lynda loved her family, especially her precious grandchildren, Sammy and Emmie. She also enjoyed bowling, and playing Scrabble and crokinole. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many, many friends. Friends may call at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel, Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at 2 p.m. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
