Loving the land and wanting to return to farming, they and son Kevin moved back to Ontario in 1971. They purchased a farm close to Dean's parents, and started dairy farming. Being involved with the Holstein industry, Dean became president of United Breeders in Guelph around 1996, and achieved Master Breeder herd in 1999. He worked on the farm with Kevin, and was active until his sudden death.
