William “Bill” Udo Landeck of Kincardine, died peacefully, Dec. 1, 2022, at Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton, after a courageous battle with cancer, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Carol Landeck (née Cox), and second father to Brian Cox and Katie Fiebrandt. Born Jan. 21, 1945, in Germany, Bill immigrated to Canada when he was nine years old, arriving in Toronto with his parents, Marika and Walter. In 1983, Bill happily married the love of his life, Carol Landeck (nee Cox), his partner in life. Together, they started a beautiful life in Toronto. He worked at Sears and also drove a school bus for children with special needs. In 1995, Bill and Carol moved to Kincardine to be closer to her relatives. They always sought to see the lake from their home and enjoy the serenity it brings. So, in 2003, they moved to Lake Range Drive where they both enjoyed their beautiful lakeview, hosting friends and many neighbours. Bill was happy and content. Besides spending time with friends and family, he enjoyed travelling to Florida’s gulf coast in the winter, exercising and staying in shape, and talking with anyone and everyone. He was a gifted storyteller. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law and best friend, Cheryl Cox; nephew, Brian Cox; niece, Katie Fiebrandt and her husband Tobi; great-niece, Evelyn; and great-nephew Fynn; special cousin and family from San Antonio; and special cousin from Simcoe. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Marika; and brother-in-law and best friend, Jim Cox. Private family arrangements. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
