Joan Margaret (Hamilton) Barr died peacefully, with family at her side, at Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton, Dec. 7, 2022, in her 87th year. Cherished wife of Jack Barr who predeceased her in 2010. Joan leaves behind her daughters, Jeannette (Gary) Fair of Kincardine, Susan (Henry) Van de Klippe of Kincardine, and her son Murray (Michele) Barr of Kinlough. Missed by her grandchildren, Jason (Meagan), Lisa (Des), April (Mike), Jeffrey, Kyle (Madi), and Chad (Tonia); and her great-grandchildren, twins Ethan and Evelyn, and Jackson and Patrick. Survived by her siblings, Betty, Bruce (Margaret), Don, and Ross (Terri) Hamilton; and her in-laws, Eileen and Donald Barr; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jane (Buckton) and Gilbert Hamilton; her in-laws, John and Cora Barr, Doris and Morley Bushell, Russell, Barbara, Trixie, and Percy Barr. Joan was raised on the 4th Concession of Kinloss. She loved working on the farm with Jack, and was a faithful member of the Kinlough Presbyterian Church where she was the organist and treasurer for a number of years. She loved to quilt, and she worked as a home-care provider for many residents around the community, and was always available to talk. Due to COVID-19, a private family funeral will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. Interment, Greenhill Cemetery.
