JAMES "JIM" THOMAS |
December 31, 2022 |
Always the entertainer, Jim Thomas of Kincardine, has exited stage left on his final production! The curtain came down on New Year’s Eve, 2022, at the Kincardine hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 88. Jim will be missed by his darling wife, Edna Thomas (née Wright) who after 10 days of knowing him, accepted his marriage proposal and stayed married to him for 57 years. Together, they had four children, Stephen Thomas of Peterborough, Elizabeth Turner (Robert Turner) of Kincardine, Lorraine Thomas (Peter Wiederhold) of London and Michelle Thomas of Kincardine. Survived by his sister, Patricia O’Donnell, he will be reuniting with his mother and father, Cecilia (née McGuire) and George Thomas, who no doubt will already be planning an evening of Party Pieces with George on the piano and Jim reciting some of his favourite stories and poems. Jim enjoyed spending time with all of his family and loved seeing his grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Melissa Thomas (Nic Bidgood), Anna Wiederhold, Rebecca Wiederhold, Hanna Beaune, and James Beaune; and he was over the moon when his great-granddaughter, Georgia Bidgood, was born in February of 2022. Jim may have been small in height but he was larger than life in personality. He entertained many over the years as a member of the Kincardine Theatre Guild and the Kincardine Community Singers. He will be missed not only by all of his extended family but also by many friends. Cremation has taken place and Jim has requested no service, so there will be no encore. If you would like to honour Jim, please consider a donation to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
