Paul Heeley of Point Clark, a beloved retired schoolteacher, died Jan. 15, 2023, at the age of 56. Paul lived a full and active life, always eager to explore the great outdoors and try new activities. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and canoeing, and in the winter months, he enjoyed hockey, skiing, and snowmobiling. He also had a creative side, with hobbies including model-making and woodcarving. Throughout his life, Paul maintained a diverse range of interests, including outdoor activities, creative hobbies, and spending time with loved ones. Paul loved teaching and had the opportunity to travel to Australia as part of a teacher exchange program, where he met his wife, Rachel. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 10 years, Rachel Heeley (née Weightman); his father, Daniel; and his adorable pet cat, George. Paul cherished spending time with people and would spread knowledge, joy, and comfort to all. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Heeley; brother, Chris (Bridget) Heeley, and nieces, Mikayla and Ariel; and partner, Monique Aunger, and her children, Cobie, Brie, Grant, Fiona and Giselle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. If desired, the family requests that donations be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital or SickKids Hospital in Paul's memory. These donations will support the care and treatment of children and families, which was close to Paul's heart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. |
