Dave Grieve of Southampton died peacefully at home, Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, surrounded by family. He was 69. Survived by his wife, Connie; daughters, Lindsay, and her husband, Kelly Kaake; and Jessica, and her husband, Tyler Murray of Kincardine; along with five grandchildren whom he adored, Gracelyn, Gage and Rosalye Sousa and Chloe and Peyton Murray. They will miss their Papa. Also survived by his mother, Betty Grieve; and brother, Sandy (Dale) Grieve. Dave will be missed by many extended family and friends. Predeceased by his father, Gordon Grieve (1981). Dave was a heavy equipment operator, licensed crane operator and truck driver, by trade. He and Connie raised their two girls on the family farm, a little piece of paradise. He loved raising animals on the farm, especially horses. He was happiest holding the reins of a heavy horse team. Hunting with the boys was another hobby. There wasn’t too much that Dave wouldn’t attempt. Sometimes the job came to fruition, sometimes not, but he always persevered. Special thanks to Emily, Lauren, Dr. Somerville, Dr. Musngi and friends and family, for their guidance and support both for Dave and our family during this journey with Corticobasal Degeneration. Cremation has taken place, with interment of ashes in Burgoyne Cemetery, in the spring. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring as well. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Port Elgin Legion, Branch 340, Cenotaph Fund or Huron Shores Hospice; arrangements entrusted to the Eagleson Funeral Home; www.eaglesonfuneralhome.com/. |
