March 5, 2023 |
Olga Marta Inkratas (nee Sedat), formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Jerome Inkratas (1991). Dear mother of John (Gayle) and Gary (Janice). Lovingly remembered by her grandson, Christopher (Sara); and proud great-grandma of Isabella and Oliver. Born Jan. 3, 1926, in Lithuania, with four brothers and three sisters, she was forced to flee the Second World War to bordering countries. She emigrated to Canada in 1951 to start a new life. Settling in Windsor, she worked at canning factories in Leamington, picked tobacco in Tillsonburg, and raised two sons. In 1991, she moved to Kincardine with Jerome. Olga was a passionate gardener who propagated every seed and cutting she could obtain. She was an avid cook and baker, and loved to knit, especially warm woollen socks which were gifted to all she knew. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. A private family graveside service will be held at Kincardine Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
