Frederick “Fred” Alexander Doupe of Kincardine died, with his family by his side, Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Susan Doupe (née Brooks). Proud and loving father of Ryan and his partner, Jeannie; and Andrew and his wife, Geraldine. Sadly, missed by his precious grandchildren, Christopher and Sophia. Dear brother of Deanna Scott, Don and Jessie Doupe, and Betty Helm. Fondly remembered by his in-laws, John and Rosalind Brooks, Linda and Ben Beishuizen, and extended family and many friends. Predeceased by his father, Ivan Doupe; mother, Isabel (née Blue) Stanley; stepfather, Norval Stanley; mother-in-law, Marjorie Brooks; and in-laws, Morley Scott, Art Helm, Jim “Wes” and Joan Brooks, and Don Brooks. After college, Fred began his working career at the family business in Millarton and went on to have a 32-year career at Bruce Power as a mechanical maintainer. Fred enjoyed fast cars, working with his hands, building, repairing, gardening, the outdoors, the beach, exercise, a good joke, and most importantly, time with family. If you ever watched “Jeopardy” with Fred, you would know he was a wealth of information, that he acquired by continuously learning something new. Around the house, he was a bit of a perfectionist; there was only one way to do the job, and that was the right way. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4-7 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, where the funeral will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 2 p.m., with Ann Maycock officiating. Cremation to follow, with final resting place, Ripley Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Kincardine Pavilion, immediately after the service. If so desired, donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, Huntington Society of Canada or charity of choice, would be appreciated by Fred’s family. |
