Etje “Etty” Broer (nee Medema) died at her home on the 2nd Concession of Kincardine, June 6, 2023, at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Willem “Bill” Broer (2001). Loving mother of Roxanne Broer, Denny Broer, Mark Broer, Kevin (Melanie) Broer, Stephanie (Keith) Clauson and Andy Hubbard. Cherished grandmother of Wilson, Liam and Mikayla Bowes, Angel (Taylor) Bullock, Olivia and Dakota Broer, Nathan and Adrianna Broer, Jake and Hailey Broer, and Isabelle and Willem Clauson and Kieffer Wist. Great-grandmother of Nora, Mya and Ava Bullock. Fondly remembered by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family in the Netherlands, friends and family. Etty was a teacher, educator and an adventurer. She loved life, working hard, enjoying a good laugh, and giving her time for mission work. She could whip up a meal, including baked goods, for an army in no time and under short notice; she excelled at what is called multi-tasking. But what was most important to Etty was family and friends and no matter how much work needed to be done, there was always time to stop for a cup of coffee, and a chat. She touched the lives of many, and she will be missed. The family will receive friends at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, Friday, June 9, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lucknow Community Christian Reformed Church, 293 Place Street, Lucknow, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim Leferink officiating. Family and friends will gather, following the reception, at the Pine River United Church Cemetery, Point Clark, for the interment service at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations to World Renew, Wycliff-Korten, Wycliff-Vandemeer, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Cancer Research Society Inc., would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
