Patricia Fanny Harker (née French) of Kincardine, died peacefully with family at her side, at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, July 27, 2023, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Harker (2012). Sadly missed by her daughters, Susan of Kitchener, Lynda (Keith Sparrow) of Stratford and Kathy (Mike MacDonald) of Kincardine. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Schafer, Tracy (Oneil) Thompson, Jacqueline Bradshaw (Evan Wright), Christine (Kyle) Montgomery; step-grandchildren, Andrew Sparrow (Madelyn), Brad MacDonald; and seven great-grandchildren. Fond memories for thoughtful friend, Debbie Borton of Hanover; and childhood friend, Ruth Burgess of Heathcote. Survived by her brother-in-law, Douglas Baker. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Gladys French (née Black); brother, Douglas French (Gwen); sisters, Betty Baker and Hilda Bowhey; mother-in-law, Marian; sister-in law, Arleigh Roberts (Don); and brother-in law, John Harker (Marg). Pat was born and raised on the family pioneer farm on the 19th S.R. in the Beaver Valley, Grey County. She and Doug raised their family in Hanover and for 25 years, she assisted in the operation of ‘Harker TV Antenna Service.’ They enjoyed cottage life in Sauble Beach and then retirement in London, Stratford and several winters in Placida, Florida. She had a happy life with extended family, friends and beloved dogs and cats. She gave her undivided attention to her granddaughters, touching each of their lives in special ways. In her elder years in Kincardine at Trillium Court Seniors’ Community and in Lucknow at Pinecrest Manor, everyone she met enjoyed her bright smile, friendly greetings and positive outlook on life. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, from 1 – 2 p.m., followed by a casual service at the Kincardine Cemetery Columbarium at 2:45 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. |
