Robert Thomas “Bob” Griffin of Kincardine died peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, with family by his side, at the age of 85. Bob will be remembered by his life-long friends and the mothers of his children, Peggy and Sandra. He was the loving father of Darlene (Jim), Deanna, Larry (Tammy), Tom, and Tabatha (Michael). Proud grandpa of Blake (Kate), Candice (John), Rebecca (Felipe), Megan (Hani), Taylor (Jeff), Paige (Ben), Olivia, Tristan, Sierra, Cole, Calleigha, Samantha and Cayden; and great-grandpa of Kayla, Kiley, Jordan, Adaline, Logan, J.J., Cian and Carter. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Jean; sister, Nancy; and beloved daughter, Deborah. Bob, a.k.a. “Big Daddy,” was a proud family man who quickly gained the love and friendship of those he met. Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, he was a northerner to his core and was very proud of his hometown. If you had ever met Bob, you would know he was a true, hard-core fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs; the ink he proudly displayed said it all. Bob enjoyed trips to the local pub for conversation and a cold pint. A tour on his scooter would take him downtown to chat with friends and hand out dog treats. He loved people and animals, alike, but had a particular soft spot for his cat, Moe. Bob’s family is grateful to the staff at Tiverton Park Manor, Kincardine hospital and to the PSWs who helped care for him over the years. Your kindness and care of our dad will not be forgotten. With his warm smile, Bob touched the lives of many as he went about his days. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by those who knew him. Private family arrangements. Interment, in Kirkland Lake Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, donations in Bob’s memory to the Angel Fund at Queen Street Veterinary Services in Kincardine or the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated by Bob’s family; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
