MARGARET JANET ALEXANDER |
November 14, 2023 |
Margaret Janet Alexander, formerly of Kincardine, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Temiskaming District Hospital. She was 61. The daughter of Samuel and Nelda Alexander (predeceased), Margaret was born in Sudbury and was very family-driven. She put everyone before herself. She loved being at her family cottage on Manitoulin Island and would call that her Happy Place. She enjoyed being outdoors in her garden, and the odd occasional beverage. Margaret was the loving mother of Samantha (Mark) and Adam. Proud Nannie of Jackson and Hannah. Lucas, Trevor, Callum, Emmarie and Mallory also have a very special place in her heart. She greatly loved all of these grandkids. She had a beaming smile when she would talk about them and all her great-nieces and -nephews. Dearly missed by her brothers, Bob (Cathy), Bill (Brenda), and Bruce (Anne Marie); and sister, Sharleen (Steve); as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. Margaret co-habitated with Mark Alexander since her retirement. He was a special cousin to Margaret. He continued to be a huge support to her over the past few years and they enjoyed many different things together. Over the past few months, he helped with many appointments and was her rock when she needed it. She enjoyed 35 years with the OPP as an office manager. She started her career on Manitoulin Island, followed by her time in Kincardine where she built many relationships and earned lots of awards for her service. She scribed as a civilian and ended her career in Sudbury. Margaret was involved in many different volunteer service jobs while she was in Kincardine. She played baseball in the summer and curled in the winter with a very close group of friends and lots of memories were made. Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. A Celebration of Life and interment will take place on Manitoulin Island in the summer of 2024; arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Haileybury, 705-672-3122. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. On-line condolences accepted at www.buffamleveille.com. |
