​Lonely job trying to make things better, says reader

RE: “Time to abolish the ward system in Kincardine”

Excellent article regarding the Municipality of Kincardine’s ward system.

I share your skepticism and have never been in favour of the ward system. It has been very divisive and counter-productive.

Although hopeful the ward system may be abolished, following the next municipal election, I have yet to see our council take bold measures.

On the subject of transparency, you must be a Rogers customer. I am a Bruce Telecom customer and even though the municipality owns 100 per cent of Bruce Telecom, the council meetings are not shown on Bruce TV.

I have reached out to all the councillors and the mayor in an effort to correct this communication gap but have received no response.

Keep up your fine work. I know it can be a lonely job trying to make things better.
