What does this year’s holiday season mean to you?

What does this year’s holiday season mean to you?
Christmas is always a magical time of year. Everyone is busy with last-minute shopping and preparing for that perfect meal. The holidays are usually the perfect time to gather with friends and loved ones. Unfortunately, this year will be a little different on how we celebrate.

These are definitely trying times. We have all faced some level of challenge during the past few months of dealing with the pandemic crisis. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has changed how we work and how we live. In these uncertain times, it is
vital that we strive to keep the Kincardine hospital current and updated with the latest technology.

As most of our community is aware, the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation fund-raising events for 2020 had to be changed or cancelled which included our Christmas Tree Ornament campaign. This has resulted in a loss of donations directed for hospital equipment purchases. The government does not provide funding, and donors are 100-per-cent responsible to fund any medical equipment.

We are asking you to please consider a Christmas gift to the foundation to help us purchase three pieces of equipment for the Kincardine site that have been identified as
URGENT needs:

  • Endoscopic Cautery Unit ($23,700)
  • Glidescope ($16,995)
  • Pediatric Colonscope ($36,690)

We have a very active board and we are especially grateful to our many volunteers for dedicating their time to help make our foundation strong. Like many other organizations, we count on generous donors like you to help us equip our hospital. Your generosity and continued support is greatly appreciated!

We will get through this pandemic together and we are looking forward to 2021! We are excited about the announcement of the CT Scanner addition for Kincardine! The South Bruce Grey Health Centre is aiming to have this addition constructed as early as next year. Kincardine has the highest demand for CT scans from emergency department visits and inpatients, across the four sites of the health centre. This will be a huge addition to our Diagnostic Imaging department. Please stay tuned for our CT Scanner fund-raising campaign in the new year!

On behalf of the directors, members and staff of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, we wish you a safe and healthy, wonderful holiday season, and a Happy New Year!

Thank you for supporting your local hospital!
