Christmas Convoy spreads cheer throughout Kincardine area
A convoy of about 15 vehicles wended its way through the Town of Kincardine, as well as Huron Ridge and Heritage Heights, spreading Christmas cheer, Sunday morning.

The Christmas Convoy was organized by Rachel Mackay of First Impressions Salon and Day Spa in downtown Kincardine, with support from other local businesses, including B&W Appliances, Re/Max Kincardine, Dynamic Hair Design, InStyle Hair Salon, Country Depot, South-Port Mechanical/Geothermal, and others.

The convoy left the Kincardine harbour at 11 a.m., and headed north on Huron Terrace, past Malcolm Place, and on through neighbourhoods in Huron Ridge. It then travelled along Kingsway west to Nelson and then to West Street and up to Broadway.

From there, it went along Broadway to Sutton Street and the Trillium Court area, then travelled back down Broadway and through the neighbourhoods there.

The convoy went down Queen Street South and up around Victoria Park, then north on Princes Street to Knox Presbyterian Church, up Durham Street to the Davidson Centre area and neighbourhoods, down Walsh Street and across to Russell Street, up to St. Anthony’s School and neighbourhoods, down Russell Street and back around the Scott Street area.

It then travelled down to Victoria Park and south to Saratoga Street, including the neighbourhoods around the fire hall and the baseball diamonds - Weick Boulevard and Willow West subdivision - before heading south to Heritage Heights.

People were reminded to wear a mask, stay a minimum of two metres from anyone outside their own household, and not to gather in groups of any kind. They were to stay in their home or vehicle if they were coming to the convoy areas.
