Amazing massed band wraps up competition at Kincardine Scottish Festival
The sound of "Amazing Grace" played by hundreds of pipes and drums was a remarkable way to wrap up the competition Saturday at the Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.

Besides the popular pipe band competition, the day saw competitors in solo piping and drumming, and Piobaireachd.

 

  • Professional piper of the day was Ian K. MacDonald
  • Professional drummer of the day was Zack Miller of Ripley, former member of the Penetangore Pipe Band and now with the 78th Fraser Highlanders
  • Amateur piper of the day was Mike Allegretti
  • Amateur drummer of the day was MacKenzie Chamberlain of Sarnia, formerly with the Penetangore Pipe Band, and now with the 78th Fraser Highlanders

Saturday also featured children's activities, Scottish fiddling and step-dancing workshops, and plenty of regalia and food vendors, Clan tents, and the Toronto Gaelic Society helping people learn to speak Gaelic.

And of course, thousands flocked to the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band's Saturday night parade.
