Hundreds enjoy Family Day, Sunday afternoon at Kincardine Scottish Festival
Hundreds of people - parents, grandparents, and children - gathered at Victoria Park, Sunday afternoon, July 5, for Family Day at the Kincardine Scottish Festival.

The sun continued to shine and it made for a glorious time, enjoying the Celtic Music in the Park, learning All About Wool, checking out the pipes and drums of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, petting a Highland cow or a Clydesdale horse, and playing some children's games.

The Clydesdales belong to Mike and Shannon Geddes of Mikashan Farms of Clarksburg.

The afternoon of music began with a performance by the George Watson Pipes and Drums of Edinburgh, Scotland, followed by the Kincardine Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, The Ballagh Bunch of Teeswater, The Thogs, Shane Cook with Emily Flack, and The Mudmen.

There was a second scotch-tasting with Charlie Boudreau and the Companions of the Quaich. The first was held Friday night with about 50 in attendance. Joining the crew at the second event, was Frank Biskupek of The Glenlivet company, bringing with him some 12-year-old and 18-year-old Glenlivet for patrons to sample.

The closing ceremonies wrapped up the Kincardine Scottish Festival for another year, followed by a Kitchen Party in the Pub Tent.
