The Purple Grove Women's Institute and friends enjoyed their annual summer excursion Thursday. They travelled to Blyth to see the play, "The Wilberforce Hotel," which was very well done. After touring some of the shops, the ladies had supper at the Blyth Inn.

Jim and Fran Farrell enjoyed the Team Penning at the Holstein Rodeo with Jamie, Crystal and Danica Farrell on Thursday evening last week. Lots of folks enjoyed the whole weekend! Joyce and John Farrell were involved with the sheep-shearing competition. A great weekend for the rodeo, weatherwise.

Descendants of Herb and Ada Farrell gathered at the home of Dianne and Wilfred Gamble for their annual potluck picnic. About 70 folks enjoyed the great food and visiting and, of course, the beach was perfect for the young folks!
Tammy, Troy, Blaise and Case Carbaugh of Phoenix, Arizona, visited with Deanna and Morley Scott.
Gabrielle, Greg and Benjamin Smith, and Joseph Finnie were home for the weekend. They were helping the Finnies get ready for the evening barn dance, set for July 18.
