Kincardine needs the best of the best hospital equipment, say readers

RE: “Kincardine deserves the best, most-accurate CT scanner, say readers”
Barry Holt's letter and many other posts oppose the South Bruce Grey Health Centre board’s decision for a CT scanner in Kincardine. But CEO Mike Barrett's agenda is, "We have three others sites to consider."
I firmly believe it is his and the board’s strategy to have Kincardine people drive to these other sites (Walkerton, Durham and Chesley) for health care.
Creative accounting is a managed skill.
Why does it take two weeks for a blood test appointment in Kincardine, when you can book an appointment at another site the same day? The budget makes the decisions for the Kincardine hospital site.
It is my understanding that the last major purchase in Kincardine, the new X-ray machine, is not capable of doing a G.I. (gastrointestinal) series. The better model was more money. Now, to get a G.I. series, you have to travel to Walkerton hospital.
The pattern continues with the CT scanner purchase. I believe our doctors are trying their best to keep us all healthy, but a good tradesman needs the tools for the job, or his abilities are limited

To the Editor:
The best, and only the best, is what the hospital in Kincardine needs.
The supporters of this purchase (CT scanner) DESERVE the top equipment! How could ANYONE think otherwise? You get what you pay for in ANY situation!
The people who live here, and are paying for this medical machinery, want the Drive CT. The decision-makers in this instance should think from the heart, not the pocketbook!
It could be a loved one in YOUR family who NEEDS the Drive CT! Decision-makers, think about that!
