Bruce Telecom Lighthouse Blues Festival enjoys great weather, large crowds

The Bruce Telecom Lighthouse Blues Festival enjoyed great weather and large crowds in downtown Kincardine on the weekend.

Organizer Rick Clarke said it was a great success with higher attendance at all events, and a full house Friday and Saturday nights at the main stage.

"The free BIA (Business Improvement Area ) Saturday Street Festival had about 4,000 people attending," he said, "and the two nights at the main stage saw another 2,000. Plus, we had about 250 attend the Sunday Morning Gospel Revival which was more than last year."

He said all four performance stages downtown Saturday, had solid crowds, and the new Ontario Power Generation (OPG) stage on Harbour Street was quite popular.

"The Lakeside Downtown Kincardine merchants were pleased with their sales and stores were busy," said Clarke. "We had more participants in the motorcycle show and shine, and the British Sports Car exhibit. It was a fantastic weekend, and it is only possible with the continued financial support of the local business community."

The line-up included 30 artists, plus a youth showcase of young stars.
