HuronTel welcomed to downtown Kincardine in fine style
General manager Glenn Grubb and his co-workers at HuronTel were welcomed to downtown Kincardine in fine style Friday morning.
Members of the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce and the Business Improvement Area (BIA), along with piper Glynda Matheson of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, and Blinky, Kincardine's mascot, joined in a procession along Queen Street to the new HuronTel office on the southeast corner of Lambton Street.
Grubb thanked everyone for the warm welcome and said HuronTel is working to bring Fibre-to-the-Home to every street in Kincardine. He acknowledged the hard work of Mark Weber of Weber Contracting in Clifford, which is assisting in this endeavour.
He also thanked the HuronTel board of directors, led by president Blair Scott; and the employees for their dedication to this strong and growing company.
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb congratulated HuronTel, and noted that the company has grown extensively from its humble beginnings. "With millions of dollars invested over the next five to 20 years, HuronTel is providing rural communities with world-class-quality Internet services, as well as employing local people."
Joining Grubb for the ribbon-cutting to officially open the Kincardine office, were Lobb, Scott, board director John Elliott, Travis Crawford of the chamber, Blinky, and several HuronTel employees. Everyone was invited to enjoy refreshments and check out the new location.
