Watermain break affects Kincardine residents north of Lake Huron Highlands
The Municipality of Kincardine is experiencing a watermain break in the area of Kuehner Street at Hydrant K308.

A press release issued by chief administrative officer Murray Clarke, states that water service has been affected in areas north of Lake Huron Highlands, including Inverhuron and Inverhuron Park, as a result.

Crews are working to restore water service to the Eastwood, Parkwood and Birchwood areas immediately.  Full service is expected to be repaired for all residents by late afternoon.

Residents are being asked to turn off their hot water heaters. If the hot water heater drains and is unable to refill, the element may burn out. Turning off water to the hot water heater will avoid this.

If possible, close the water feed to the house. When the water is restored, it is recommended that homeowners run the cold water tap first for several minutes to remove discoloured water which is common after a loss of water

Information will be updated as it becomes available.

If you have further questions, contact the water department at 519-396-4660.
