Jutta Splettstoesser is the federal Green Party candidate for the riding of Huron-Bruce.
A farm business owner in Kincardine since 1993, she has been married for 21 years and has four children.
She acquired a Master’s degree in plant science from the Friedrich-Wilhelm University of Bonn in Germany, and her working experience as a manager on organic farms in Canada and Germany gives her an understanding of local, national and global issues. Recently, she worked during the Advanced Agriculture Leadership Program on a consulting team about First Nation Youth Engagement in Agriculture.
Since 2011, Splettstoesser has focused on renewable energy education and community participation. She persistently encourages respectful dialogue, critical thinking and responsible planning in all levels of government.
She joined the Green Party of Canada because it represents her values and the political direction for her children.
"Canada’s future depends on your vote for a party with bold, new ideas that will take Canada into a bright and promising future," she says.

Smart Economy – It depends on thriving small businesses, innovative opportunities for young people and great local jobs suited to the 21st Century. Her goal is to turn old-industry jobs into clean-tech, high-value jobs in a resilient, new economy.
Protection of the Great Lakes Basin communities from nuclear waste abandonment is an important issue that she cares about.

"We need to put the common good above private greed to reduce the growing gap between the rich and the poor," says Splettstoesser. "We need leaders who make decisions based on science, not ones who cook the books to find 'evidence' to support wrong-headed decisions.
