Two-day Point Clark Lighthouse Festival draws a good crowd
The inaugural two-day Point Clark Lighthouse Festival drew a good crowd on the weekend.

For the first time, the Huron-Kinloss recreation department hosted a gala evening Friday, with about 70 people in attendance to enjoy some wine-tasting of Hoity Toity Cellars wines, beer-tasting of MacLean's Ales, and cheese-sampling of Pine River Cheese, as well as a delicious prime rib dinner served by Burke's Catering.

Community services director Mike Fair said the turn-out was terrific as the crowd enjoyed the entertainment by the Howlin' Dog Jazz Band. The evening also featured an auction of works by artists Brian Dalton and Susan Nichol, and lighthouse tours, with the special feature: a sunset lighthouse tour.

Saturday afternoon, saw free children's activities, including sand-castle building, face-painting, balloon animals, and a bouncy castle, followed by the legendary corn roast and car show, now in its 25th year.
