Congratulations to the Ripley Reunion Committee for a wonderful five-day weekend, and to everyone who gave of their time and talents to make it a marvellous time! The fireworks were a great way to end the weekend. We are thankful that no one was hurt with the nasty weather conditions on Sunday.

Shirley and Doug MacDonald enjoyed having the whole family home from the East and the West for the Reunion weekend. It is the first time they have all been together for a long time. Some are still home visiting.
Sorry to hear that the Day Away Program in Kincardine is planning to close in September. Folks from our area will miss it greatly.
Rodney Sutton was home for part of the Reunion. Must say Cecil Sutton sure looks different without his beard! Congratulations to all the participants in the beard-growing contest and to everyone who donated to the charities at the auction.

Sunday, Aug. 2, the descendants of Lolita and Harry Quinn celebrated their 36th family reunion at the Purple Grove Community Centre. There were 75 in attendance. Family members enjoyed a potluck lunch at noon, followed by an afternoon of games. The games were hosted by the family members of the late Muriel Quinn Newton who passed away April 25, 2015.
Monday, some of the descendants of Rebecca and George Colwells gathered at the Purple Grove Community Centre. Lots of family catching-up took place.
Six members of the Ripley 4-H Dairy Club exhibited at the Lucknow Invitational Britespan Show, Monday, Aug. 3. Congratulations on a great show and your placings.
Chris, Tyson and Cooper Vandesype returned to Manitoba after spending two weeks with family and friends here. They also took in the Reunion.
Visiting recently with Fran and Jim Farrell, were Irene West of Stratford and Bill Yarosh of Ohio.
Congratulations to the folks who exhibited at the Hanover Fair, Saturday, Aug. 8. They participated in the Jersey and Brown Swiss Dairy show and other animals as well.
Christine, Michael and Dominic Gemmell of Nova Scotia visited with Diane and Arnie Clifford and the Clifford extended family, the first week of August.
Joyce and John Farrell and Great Grandma June Elliott celebrated Evan Becker's sixth birthday, Sunday. Shirley and Leonard Stanley of Lucknow visited with Joyce and John last week.
