(BLUEWATER, ON) – A traffic stop for speeding turned into a little more after police found the driver in possession of marijuana.
Aug. 4, at about 9:30 p.m.,. a Huron County OPP officer observed a Honda Civic travelling along Zurich-Hensall Road at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed the vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device and measured the speed at 116 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the presence of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and a quantity of marijuana was located when police searched the vehicle.
As a result, David STEPHENSON, 25, of Goderich, has been charged with Speeding and Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marijuana). He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter, Oct. 22.
