Toronto Brigantine Tall Ships return to Kincardine for second annual Marine Heritage Festival
The Toronto Brigantine Tall Ships, "Pathfinder" and "Playfair," are returning to Kincardine Harbour for another weekend of marine-themed fun!

The ships sail into port Friday, Aug. 21, and the Marine Heritage Festival events run Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s theme is ‘Search and Rescue’ which promises a variety of educational and entertaining components. The festival will feature nautical activities for adults and children including tours of the Kincardine Lighthouse and Marine Museum, the Walker House Heritage Centre, and Artisan’s Alley on the north pier, as well as the Community Foundation Grey Bruce ‘Ahoy - Kids Art Zone’ at Macpherson Park.
Friday night sees the return of the popular sunset cruise aboard these beautiful ships – a unique opportunity for all. A limited number of sunset cruise tickets is available for purchase at the tourism office in downtown Kincardine. A new feature this year is a reception at the Walker House for all those onboard the cruise, following this nautical adventure. Unwind with entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and tall tales!

“Things are really coming together this year," says Kincardine tourism travel counsellor Robert Colquhoun, “I think it’s a great opportunity for people of all ages to learn more about the history surrounding Kincardine’s port.”
The committee has been working over the past few months to pack as many activities into the weekend as possible but it needs your help to ensure the festival’s success. Volunteers are needed to run different activity stations Saturday, and the festival is always looking for sponsors so that the event and its multitude of activities can be adequately funded.
If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a corporate sponsor for this event, contact the Kincardine Tourism office for additional information, 519-396- 2731 or tourism@kincardine.net.
