Youngsters donate corn to Kincardine Food Bank
Payton and Landen Adams of Walkerton have a corn stand on the lawn at their grandma's home in Kincardine. But they are also giving back to the community by donating corn to the Kincardine Food Bank.
Their grandma, Karen McLelland, is very proud of Payton, 7 and Landen, 8, who pick the corn at their parents' hobby farm.
"The kids were here while they attended hockey school (in Kincardine)," said McLelland, "so we set up the corn stand, and took two big bags of corn to the food bank last week and this week. We hope to continue selling corn and donating it to the food bank until the corn runs out, probably around the Labour Day weekend."
Pat Stewart, co-ordinator of the food bank, said this is the first time corn has been donated.

"It was wonderful to receive," she said. "We were able to give it to those who use the food bank, along with some other fresh vegetables we received from the community garden and other donations."
Payton and Landen also donated two baskets of corn to Community Living of Kincardine and District.
The corn is available at the stand on McLelland's lawn, on Park Street, just south of St. Albert Street, at a cost of $5 per dozen.
