Storm information on the radio would be helpful, says reader

To the Editor:

Late Saturday afternoon and into the night, we sat at home keeping as warm as we could, with candles providing flickering light, but no idea how extensive the power outage was or how long it might be for repairs to be completed. 

Using battery-operated or crank-up radios, we tuned in to the local FM radio, and 97.9 the Bruce, expecting to get information, but heard nothing but pre-programmed rock music.

Wouldn't it be helpful if the FM folks in Kincardine, Port Elgin or Owen Sound could come on air with some local storm information for the benefit of the community?
