Memorial services for Doug MacDonald of New Hamburg and Dolores MacKenzie of Kincardine were held last week and our sympathies are extended to their families at this time.

A bridal shower for Sasha Segal, finance of Sandy Bridge, was held in Mount Forest Saturday at the home of Brian and Christine Bridge, with family and friends attending.
The Ripley 4-H Sheep Club gathered at the farm of Anne and Mac MacInnes for sheep-shearing on a hot Tuesday evening last week. The sheep were being prepared for the upcoming show season.
Also, the Ripley 4-H Conservation Club members went on their field trip to the Bruce Power Visitors' Centre and enjoyed an afternoon program with Nancy Griffin of the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA). Thanks to Anne, Steve and Amy for making all the arrangements and setting up another fun day.

It was a beautiful weekend for the Tall Ships to be at the harbour in Kincardine for the Marine Heritage Festival. There’s lots of marine heritage in our area! Did you know that almost 20 ships sank in Lake Huron near Kincardine before 1930? A tour of the Kincardine Lighthouse sure provides lots of interesting facts about the shipping industry, and the view from the top is amazing too!
