The Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey held its volunteer and donor appreciation evening Thursday night at Rotary Park in Kincardine.
Among those honoured as donors were Dom Jackson of the Kincardine Women's Triathlon, Brenda Zinn of the Chantry Singers, Linda Marron, and Janice Matchett of Matchett Financial Services.
Volunteers honoured, were Dom Jackson, Angela Soloduka, Mary Anne Kukoly, Candace Burton, Lori Harding, Linda Marron and Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson.
"These two groups of people are so important to Women's House," says Tiffany Love of Women's House. "Without the continued support of all of those in our communities, Women's House could not strive to continue the necessary work that we do."
Meanwhile, tickets are on sale for the Women's House annual Fall Gala.
This year, you will have a chance to win a “Love” Diamond pendant and chain donated by DC Taylor Jewellers, with an appraised value of $1,350. Remember, each ticket into the Gala includes one chance to win the Elimination Grand Prize!
“Last year’s event was a huge success and we look forward to providing a fun-filled evening again,” says Love, community and fund development co-ordinator for Women’s House. “After the great outfits last year for the Disco theme, I can’t wait to see what will come out of the closet for '80s Prom!”
Although the Gala is an evening full of entertainment, it is also an evening of charity. All of the funds raised go directly toward the services and client necessities not covered by government funding. The shelter relies on major fund-raisers, such as the Gala, to ensure the current level of vital services and programs continues for the women and children in need in the community.
