Kincardine Sunset Quilters' Guild donates quilt to hospital auxiliary

The Kincardine Sunset Quilters’ Guild has generously donated a quilt to the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary, to be raffled off as a fund-raiser.

The presentation was made Wednesday morning by guild president Kelly Wesley and vice-president Lydia Kuz, to auxiliary vice-presidents Carol Collins and Judy Lackner.

The quilt is an old Bear Paw pattern that the guild entitled “Bear Trails“ and is Queen size -  Lydia Kuz (L) and Carol Collins with quilt.

Kelly Wesley and JoAnne Lickley started this project and over the past six to seven months, it has taken many hours to complete.

It is a pieced block quilt and more than 40 of the Sunset Quilters each did a block, with the final quilting machine-stitched by Doreen Wilken. The estimated value is $2,000. and the auxiliary will begin the quilt raffle in the spring.
