Barricaded man apprehended in Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) – Members of the Huron County OPP detachment, with the assistance of the West Region Emergency Response Team and the Tactics and Rescue Unit members, have apprehended a barricaded man, without incident. 
 

At approximately 12 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, officers responded to the Alexandra and Marine General Hospital, located on Napier Street in the Town of Goderich, regarding a call for assistance.
 

A male patient had barricaded himself in a room at the hospital. Upon arrival, officers set up containment around the immediate area and began communicating with the man.
 

At approximately 6 p.m., the man was apprehended without incident by members of the Tactics and Rescue Unit team.
 

The incident did not pose any risk to public safety. During the incident, access to certain areas of the hospital was restricted. Regular public access is now in effect.
