South Bruce OPP report impaired driver; theft; and two-vehicle crash

IMPAIRED DRIVER LOSES CONTROL
 

(BRUCE TWP, ON) – Sept. 28, at 5:46 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash along the Bruce Saugeen Line in Bruce Township. 

Officers arrived and located a blue Dodge Dakota pick-up truck in the ditch. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Twenty-six-year-old Michael BECKINGHAM of Saugeen Shores has been charged with operate over-80 milligrams. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 2. There were minor injuries reported at the scene.
 

POLICE INVESTIGATING THEFT OF JEWELLERY
 

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – Sept. 27, at 1:43 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from a residence in the 4500 block of Bruce County Road 1 in Greenock Township. 

Sometime between 6 a.m. Sept. 20, and 9 a.m. Sept. 27, the residence was entered. The list of stolen property includes heart-shaped gold earrings, gold necklaces, diamond rings and a black onyx ring. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be more than $1,700.
 

MINOR INJURIES REPORTED AT TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
 

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – Sept. 26. at 9:01 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 9 in Kincardine Township. 

Officers arrived to find that a grey Saturn Vue was stopped at the construction lane reduction when it was struck from behind by a beige Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Malibu, a 64-year-old Hanover man, was charged with careless driving. There were minor injuries reported at the scene.
