POLICE LOOKING FOR $34,000 IN STOLEN JEWELLERY
(BRANT TWP, ON) – Sept. 26, at 10:49 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from a residence in the 2600 block of Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township.
Sometime between 12:01 a.m. Sept. 13, and 10 a.m. Sept. 26, the home was entered. The list of stolen property includes diamond/gold bracelets, wrist watches, rings and a Gucci necklace. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be in excess of $34,000.
STOLEN PICK-UP TRUCK BURNED
(HURON TWP, ON) – Sept. 30, at 10:42 a.m., a silver Dodge Ram pick-up truck was checked on Clinton Street in Teeswater and found to be a stolen vehicle.
Members of the South Bruce OPP signalled the truck to stop, but the driver refused and fled the area at a high rate of speed.
About an hour later, at 11:50 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a vehicle fire along Concession 12 in Huron Township. Officers attended and found that the vehicle on fire was the stolen truck that was observed in Teeswater, but there was no one near the truck.
Members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team, the OPP Canine Unit, the Huron County OPP and the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit attended to assist the South Bruce OPP in a search for the occupants of the truck.
This is an isolated incident; there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation is in its early stages.
