Kincardine Bulldogs split games on the weekend
The Nichol Insurance Kincardine Junior C Bulldogs ended both games on the weekend, by a 3-2 score, but won the first in overtime, and lost the second.
Saturday night in Mitchell, the Hawks opened the scoring early in the second, but the 'Dogs tied it up midway on a goal by Hunter Robins-Gibbons from Mat Mah and Rhys Vollmer.
Mitchell went ahead early in the third period, but Kincardine tied it again, on a goal by Brett Burrows from Keegan Angel and Shane Vollmer.
At the end of regulation time, it was tied 2-2, forcing the game into overtime. In the second overtime period, Gerrit Satosek of the 'Dogs scored from Eric Langridge, to give Kincardine the 3-2 win.
Sunday afternoon, at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine lost to the Walkerton Hawks, 3-2.
Patrick Wiejak opened the scoring for the 'Dogs late in the first, from Jordan Bell. A minute later, Walkerton had it tied at 1-1.
The Hawks then scored midway in the second and again 10 minutes later, to take a 3-1 lead. The Bulldogs fought back with a goal by Keegan Angel from Brett Burrows and Mat Mah. However, Walkerton shut down the Bulldogs' offence in the third, to take the 3-2 win.
Kincardine travels to Walkerton to face the Hawks again, Friday night; and is back at home in the Davidson Centre, Saturday night to face the Wingham Ironmen - game time is 7 p.m.
