Lt. Sandra Benbow takes over command of the Kincardine Air Cadetse

Lt. Sandra Benbow is now in charge of the Kincardine Air Cadets, Typhoon Squadron 183.

A change of command ceremony was held Sept. 21 at the Kincardine Legion, with Benbow taking over as officer in charge, from Captain Stephanie Rutledge. Assisting with the ceremony, were Captain Bob Fisher of the detachment in London, and WO2 Kalvin Stares of the Air Cadets.

The passing of the squadron banner from one officer to another represents the passage of the responsibilities of the squadron to the new officer in charge. The term of office is usually three years.

Once Benbow has completed the course, she will obtain the rank of commanding officer. Rutledge is now second in command or deputy commanding officer.

The Air Cadets meet Monday nights, 6:30 p.m., at the Kincardine Legion, and welcome all youth to join, once they turn 12. The organization is also looking for adult volunteers.
