Huron Shores Hospice joins Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28

November 17, 2023

Huron Shores Hospice is participating in Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, to continue to provide free quality compassionate end-of-life care to families needing support for their loved ones in our community.

Bruce Power has very generously offered to match the first $3,000 raised - $1 for $1.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity to celebrate humanity. The day was started as the antidote to the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

"Giving Tuesday is a special day where individuals and organizations work together to give back in meaningful ways," said John Peevers, director of community and media relations, and economic development at Bruce Power. "Bruce Power is committed to being a supportive partner in our community, proudly standing by organizations like Huron Shores Hospice, which offer crucial support to community members during challenging times."

“As we continue to create a world where end-of-life receives the same beauty, care and respect as the beginning, by making moments matter, we express profound gratitude for Bruce Power’s invaluable support through its matching sponsorship,” said Cathy Herbert, executive director of Huron Shores Hospice.

“Launching on Giving Tuesday, our year-end ‘Love Never Dies’ campaign is poised to sustain our community-owned hospice, ensuring families can consistently rely on us to deliver quality compassionate care and support well into the future. With the generous offer from Bruce Power to double the impact of our loyal donors’ contributions, our vibrant community of support is set to make an even more significant difference.”

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable, not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, community-funded residential hospice, providing quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores, and surrounding areas. The hospice also provides free programs for Grief Recovery, End-of-Life Doula services, Caregiver workshops, Death Cafes and End-of-Life Planning workshops.
