The Clothes Hamper Foundation has donated $9,000 to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, to go toward Radiothon Project - 21 IV Pumps ($90,500).

The Clothes Hamper, located in downtown Kincardine, sells gently-used clothing through a group of volunteers who generously donate the proceeds to the hospital. Over the years, their donations have been impressive, for a total of $184,500 including this year's presentation.

Donations have been applied toward a Bone Density Machine, Analyzer, Mammogram, X-ray equipment, Automated Dispensing Machine, the yearly Radiothon and the Building fund.

For the fourth year in a row, the Lucknow and District Kinsmen have generously donated $10,000 to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, as well as $10,000 each to hospital foundations in Goderich, Wingham and Owen Sound.

To date, the Kinsmen have donated $39,000 to the Kincardine hospital foundation. This year's money will go toward the Radiothon project - 21 IV Pumps to replace the current ones which are causing problems and constantly breaking down.

Diane Baldwin, co-ordinator of the foundation and the Radiothon, held in September, says the Radiothon was a huge success, with just over $73,000 raised, to date. The money goes toward the IV Pumps which will cost a total of $90,533

In addition, the Kinsmen have purchased a new ice resurfacing machine for the Lucknow Sports Centre, and donated toward tourism events in Lucknow.

The Kinsmen donations come from the proceeds of the club’s annual fund-raising events, such as Strawberry Summerfest and the sold-out Music in the Fields festival in August.

In Wingham, the funds will go toward the foundation’s goal of raising $95,000 for the purchase of operating room equipment.
