Award-winning fiddler Adrianna Ciccone is bringing her talents to the stage at the Armow Community Hall, Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m.
The 25-year-old is from Timmins, but grew up on the Ottawa Valley fiddle/stepdance circuit. She is now studying at Berkeley in Boston.
Concert organizer Deb Morris has known Ciccone since she was a teenager at fiddle camp. "She is truly a delightful and talented young woman – a fabulous player!"
Ciccone is touring Ontario, making her performance debut and presenting her first CD, "The Back of Winter." Just last weekend, she was surprised and honoured to be awarded the Canadian Folk Music title, Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year for 2015!
Joining Ciccone on tour, and at the Armow concert, is Colin Cotter, a multi-instrumentalist who began fiddling at an early age as part of his family tradition in Finnish fiddle music, and eventually dove into Scottish fiddling. He is a self-taught guitarist, mixing influences from around the world, and his emotive songwriting bridges the gaps among American and Celtic folk, and rock music.
Tickets are $20 each for adults, and $10 each for students.
