Two clubs collaborate on Kincardine Easter Egg Hunt this year

April 2, 2024

The Kincardine Rotary Club and the Kincardine Agricultural Society worked together to host the annual Kincardine Easter Egg Hunt, held Saturday morning in Victoria Park.

The rules were a little different this year, as volunteers placed a pile of straw in the park and hid coloured eggs throughout the straw. Each child received a coloured sticker and was to find the matching coloured egg, then trade in the egg for a treat bag full of goodies and a package of vegetable or flower seeds.

A huge crowd turned out for the event, braving the sunny but chilly morning.

About 200 children participated, divided into two groups; age five and under, and age six to 10. The Easter Bunny visited and posed for photos, and there was the added attraction of two 10-day-old lambs for children to pet.

Organizers said almost 50 pounds of candy was distributed and everyone had a lot of fun.

Besides the two organizations working together, the event received community sponsorship from Miller Insurance Brokers, Tim Hortons and Shoreline Classics.
