OFFICERS KEPT BUSY DURING SNOWSTORM
(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The latest winter storm to pass through southern Bruce County kept the South Bruce OPP busy dealing with traffic issues.
Between 6 p.m. Jan. 6, and 6 p.m. Jan. 11, the South Bruce OPP responded to 20 motor vehicle collisions and 15 reports of abandoned/stranded vehicles. Most of these calls involved more than one vehicle but there were no injuries reported to police at any of these calls.
For those who decide to travel in a winter storm, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow. Remember to keep your speed down - “If you see snow, go slow.”

DISTRACTED DRIVER CHARGED
(KINCARDINE, ON) – Jan. 9, at 10:33 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Queen Street, Kincardine, noticed a distracted driver operating a black Ford pick-up truck.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 61-year-old man of Milton, was charged with drive while using hand held communication device.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN PICK-UP
(HURON TWP, ON) – Jan. 10, at 8:16 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen vehicle from a residence in the 3000 block of Concession 2 in Huron Township.
Sometime between 11 p.m. Jan. 9, and 4:30 a.m. Jan. 10, a black 2008 Toyota Tundra, Licence No. AC33998, was taken. The estimated value of the stolen truck is $22,000.
